Have you ever felt like you have no sense of direction? Like the path to the future has been hidden in darkness?
If this is where you are today, I want to encourage you that you are not walking this road alone.
I came across this scripture this morning in 2 Samuel 22:29:
"You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light." (NIV)
I also loved how The Message paraphrases it:
"Suddenly, God, your light floods my path, God drives out the darkness... What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward Him makes it."
As I read those words, I couldn't help but think back to my own journey through grief.
I discovered that continuing to move forward, one small step at a time, was part of God's plan for receiving what He had waiting for me. I wanted the darkness to disappear before I took another step, but instead, God asked me to trust Him enough to keep walking.
There were many days I didn't feel like I had the faith or the strength to do anything. Every step was a choice.
Some days that step simply meant turning on worship music.
Some days it meant opening my Bible and reading a few verses.
Some days it meant whispering a prayer when I couldn't find the words.
As I listened, read, and leaned into His presence, something beautiful began happening.
God was quietly rebuilding me from the inside out.
His truth was already there, gently healing my broken heart. Even when I couldn't see it, He was working beneath the surface, strengthening me one step at a time.
"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..."
(Philippians 1:6)
This road is incredibly hard to walk alone, and grief can become overwhelming when we try to carry it by ourselves.
But Jesus is our light in the darkness.
He is our hope. He is our strength. He is our saving grace.
He has already provided everything you and I need for today.
And when you're ready, you'll discover something wonderful...
He isn't waiting somewhere farther down the road.
He's already sitting with you.
He waits with you.
So if this message resonates with you—if you're saying, "This is exactly where I am today"—I want to encourage you to take one small step of faith.
Because, every willing step, no matter how small, allows God to continue His healing work in your heart.
And if today isn't the day you can take that step, that's okay too.
There is no rush.
His light is still shining.
His grace is still sufficient.
And He will meet you right where you are.
I love each one of you and will continue to pray for everyone in this group.
