Are You Struggling with Decisions?

Being survivors of loss throws us into the depths of being the soul decision maker. The one responsible for fixing and repairing things you own or oversee.  This is a huge responsibility and one we've never had to do on our own before.   So, we tend to waver in our decisions, that sometimes result in regrets, feeling disappointed, or like a failure.

Making decisions is a part of life and we will make mistakes along the way. I have definitely made some mistakes on my journey. The main thing is that we learn and try not to repeat the mistake again.

So, how do we do this?  By taking control of our minds.   When you have a decision to make, what does your mind do?  It becomes a hamster on a wheel, out of control and searching for an answer.

The problem occurs when we go down to many rabbit holes, look at too many resources, and incorporate multiple web searches. Confusion is inevitable with the internet at our disposal.  God wants for us to have a sound mind, sure and confident.   2 Timothy 1:7

The mind is a great thing, but if left to wander or speed ahead, it can and will lead us astray from what is right.  From making the right decision.

The battle is always in our mind. What we think or place our attention on will lead to action. If our mind is set on worldly solutions, then they will produce worldly action that does not line up with the Word and ultimately leads to making wrong decisions.

So, if we don't keep our mind steadfast on the things of God, on the truth received from the word, on Godly advice given during counsel, then we will inevitably go down the wrong path, and make wrong choices.

God tells us in His word that a double minded person is unstable in all His ways.  James 1:8

We cannot be led by God and the world.  We cannot serve two masters.  There is only one way to truth, that will always lead us down the right path. John 14:6, 8:32

And that path will always lead to Jesus. He is our saving grace. He is our very present help in times of trouble or in-decision.  Psalms 46:1

So, take time today to seek Him first. Matthew 5:33. To allow Him to be a major part of your day. Keeping a line of communication open between you and Him. This decision will be the best decision you will ever make outside of salvation. One good decision will always lead to many more good decisions as you partner with Him.
